Driving Directions and Tips

Open from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. April through October, travel in Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area on a paved turned dirt road to Goose Egg Island. If the gate is closed, there is a gate for bikes and hikers to pass through unhindered for a short distance to arrive at the Goose Egg Island vantage point.

Goose Egg Island

While on Goose Egg Island, there are educational signs, picnic benches and stunning views of vistas to spend extended periods of time and enjoy the company of both people and birds who call this area home.

Spot ducks, herons, yellow-headed blackbirds and egrets. If you visit at the right time of year (winter or early spring) you might also be able to observe the majestic bald eagle.
