The Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve

The Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve is a unique natural treasure spanning 4,400 acres of vital wetland habitat along the eastern edge of the Great Salt Lake. As the first preserve established by The Nature Conservancy in Utah, this area serves as one of the Western Hemisphere’s most important stopovers for migratory birds.

Between four and six million birds visit, feed, and nest within these wetlands annually. Strategically located between the Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area and the Antelope Island Causeway, the preserve offers a peaceful, non-strenuous escape for anyone looking to experience the unassuming beauty of Utah’s wetland ecosystems.
