Heritage Voices

Join five local farmers from Layton City as they share stories of their land, their livelihoods, and the traditions that have shaped the community for generations. This panel discussion is free to the public. Bring your Brand, Leave Your Mark As part of this event, we are inviting community members to bring their family branding irons to the event. The irons will be heated in a fire and used to brand a piece of wood, allowing us to collect a visible part of the history and heritage of the community. We will also be collecting information about the brands (what they represented, who the brand belonged to, stories you may have of the brand) as part of an ongoing community oral history project. Even if you don’t have the brand, feel free to come and share the story of your own family heritage and farming in Layton and the surrounding areas.
