‘A Century of Centerville Women 1847 – 1947’ for Women’s History Month

An exhibit will be open to the public during Museum Hours Tuesdays 10:00am to 6:00pm Thursdays 5:00pm to 8:00pm
There will also be an interactive event celebrating , A Century of Centerville Women: 1847–1947, on Saturday, March 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00. Weavers, spinners, quilt demonstrations, candle making, butter making etc.
This event is for everyone – women, men, youth, and families – and highlights more than 20 women whose faith, service, courage, and leadership shaped the foundation of our community. Many of the names and stories shared will connect directly to families who still call Centerville home.
Among the stories featured are:
· A devoted midwife who safely delivered more than 1,000 babies without losing a single mother.
· Women who organized during the suffrage movement and strengthened civic life.
· Educators, nurses, homemakers, and civic leaders whose quiet service left a lasting legacy.
