Anyone can learn to draw! Creating can bring you joy, stress relief, and a sense of accomplishment. Drawing skills are the foundation for creating most forms of two-dimensional art.
In this class participants will build on concepts learned in Basic Drawing Skills class. We will review how to break down subjects into basic shapes and proper proportions; how to distinguish and create light, medium, and dark values to create dimension; and how to lay out and complete more complicated drawings using quadrants. Students will also learn intermediate methods for shading and value, breaking down complicated subject matter into additional grid sections, and drawing using vanishing points.
Art classes give students the ability to provide encouragement to each other, to socialize, and to learn from each other. Participants will learn to develop self-confidence, let go of self-criticism and, most importantly, have fun!
All supplies will be provided. This class is being provided free as part of the Creative Aging program grant from the Utah Department of Arts & Museums. The class is limited to 10 participants.
