Ages 16+
Thursdays
February 9th to March 2nd
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
This course offers students the opportunity to draw the comprehensive figure from a live model*. Over the course of four weeks, students will participate in both gesture and sustained figure drawing, with a final week dedicated to studying the head.
Students will learn simplified concepts that aid in their ability to select pertinent information from the figure to include in both short and long poses. Repetition of poses and the application of these concepts will allow students to become more fluent in the practice of drawing from life. Both lectures and demonstrations will be used to teach these concepts as well as individual critiques. Instead of merely copying each pose, students will be encouraged to see and represent the beauty inspired by each individual pose in their own unique way.
*Model will be wearing a bathing suit
