This panel discussion is free to the public.\n\nBring your Brand\, Leave Your Mark\n\nAs part of this event\, we are inviting community members to bring their family branding irons to the event. The irons will be heated in a fire and used to brand a piece of wood\, allowing us to collect a visible part of the history and heritage of the community. We will also be collecting information about the brands (what they represented\, who the brand belonged to\, stories you may have of the brand) as part of an ongoing community oral history project. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an OUT OF THIS WORLD program as we welcome Air Force Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) and NASA Astronaut (former)\, Duane “Digger” Carey.\n\nIn addition to serving our country in the USAF for over 22 years\, Mr. Carey joined NASA and piloted the Space Shuttle Columbia on a mission to the Hubble Space Telescope.  He also worked at Houston Mission Control.\n\nMr. Carey has been traveling the country talking to young people since 2004 about his experiences in the Air Force\, NASA\, and inspiring them to pursue their dreams and consider education in the fields of science and other technical fields.
